While we were developing the beds, someone commented that their pets sleep with
them in their beds at night – why bother giving them a bed of their own? The simple
answer is – why not? Who doesn’t like having something uniquely their own?
To further this, we must also take into consideration what is most beneficial for our
pets. Although style and design play an important role in the construction of our
beds, it was more important to us that our beds do more than just look good.
The oval shape is conducive to a pet’s natural nesting tendencies, providing a 360
degree viewpoint from which a pet can easily raise his head, confirm all is well
around him, and return back to sleep. The larger sizes give pets maximum space to
spread out, sleep on their back, or even share with other pets in the house. The feet
provide a slight elevation to avoid cold drafts, while the front opening provides easy
accessibility.
For the pillow, we chose a 100% organic cotton cover and naturally buoyant kapok
fiber filling to ensure allergies aren’t aggravated by the beds, and to provide a soft
yet durable cushion for pets with special needs such as
skeletal and muscular conditions. The paints and stains are
all nontoxic.
Our pets are important advocates in our families. They bring us tremendous joy and
happiness when we need it most. For Katherine Elizabeth Pet Designs, providing the
best care for our loyal advocates begins with giving them something that ensures a
comfortable, healthy life.
In keeping with our love for pets, it is our pleasure to donate a portion of our
proceeds to The Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). PAWS is an
organization whose mission is to provide care and dignity to homeless pets while
finding them loving homes. To find out more about PAWS visit www.paws.org.
